DOWNSHALL AND THE NEW VISION TRUST

NVT Logo

Downshall joined the New Vision Trust on 1st January 2023 following a consultation with all stakeholders. The consultation was extensive and really began in 2016 when we first considered joining the New Vision Trust. After a number of presentations and meetings with parents, staff, Unions and Local stakeholders the governors reviewed the consultation responses and the majority of those who responded to the official questionnaire were in favour of us joining the Trust.

What is the New Vision Trust?

The New Vision Trust is a group of good and Outstanding schools who have voluntarily decided to come together to support each other and offer best value and best provision for their pupils during challenging financial times;

The New Vision Trust is a not affiliated with any corporate entity and is not being run for profit but is a registered charity. There are no outside investors in the New Vision Trust;

Why did the school want to join the New Vision Trust?

As a school we proposed joining the New Vision Trust because we had seen the quality of the enrichment offered to the pupils across the Trust and paid for by the Trust. Our children and staff organise joint events to share best practice across the schools so that both the staff and children can benefit. For example, Downshall hosted a reading festival for some of our most talented readers in February and this gave our children the opportunity to meet other really talented children from across the Trust. We have also attended sports festivals, learning activities and events to offer really exciting opportunities for our children.

Downshall is currently an excellent school with parents who really want the best for their children. Together we have joined with these other good and outstanding schools to take our children’s learning to an even higher level.
