DEFINITION - To Nurture: care for and protect (someone or something) while they are growing.
At Downshall we have 'created a culture which nurtures all aspects of pupils' development.' (Ofsted 2018). Our Pastoral provision for pupils is always bespoke to our pupls' needs and is the foundation upon which we support pupil wellbeing, in order for effective learning to happen.
Our Team members are experienced and trained by the Redbridge Educational Wellbeing Team (REWT). We work closely in partnership with parents and teachers to ensure the support is tailored to individual needs, including support for wellbeing or more intensive programmes to support pupils' social, emotional and mental health.
